Its now confirmed that Style36 is no longer. The online shop has closed its doors :( This is a sad reality for those of us who had come to rely on online shops like Style36 for our fashion needs. The decision to close down comes from the holding company MIH Internet Africa due to a change is strategy. The strategy of the company is to move away from "speciality" stores like fashion to more general online stores like Kalahari.net. As if we didn't have a big enough shortage in the variety of online shops.

Thrifted Bomber Jacket
Weekend Wear- Lunch out
Skater Skirt| Forever New| Bomber jacket (worn as a top)| Thrift-ed| Clutch| Gavin Rajah for Legit| Heels| Call it Spring
Thrifting was never something I used to do. I have been inspired by some of my blogger friends who find the most amazing pieces in thrift shops. I always envied this weird habit of shopping from other peoples closets - I of course never thought I could do it. Until I started..its the most thrilling thing. Going through a rack of super cheap and previously owned clothing, hoping to find a gem and then finding that gem.

I did the big Chop this past weekend. I am now sporting a very adorable short- hair- cut, if I may say so myself. I'm planning to keep my hair natural and see where it goes.

My book club
I love the experience of reading a new book- feeling like I’m part of the character's life. Living through their sorrows and celebrating their joys. I love being obsessed with a book, thinking about it every chance I get and looking forward to going home and curling up with it on the couch.
I am not one for book clubs, I always imagined that belonging to a book club would bring a sense of anxious urgency to finish reading the book and that the pleasure of a lazy leisurely read would be given up. I also imagine a pesky lady who brings the muffins to book club and calls ever so often to make sure you've moved 3 chapters since the last meeting.
I prefer to have the option to abandon a read that I feel is draining me instead of gripping and inspiring without explanation.
I will admit having a friend to discuss a good read with is wonderful, it just brings more life to the story and a different view to your own - I guess that is why book clubs were started to begin with.
I am starting my own book club with anonymous membership and with really no structured plan or reading list. This is my way of being that pesky lady to myself- I would like to dedicate as much time to reading as I do watching Pretty Little liars and the Walking dead.
I will share with you my favorite books as well as the embarrassing growing list of abandoned books that are collecting dust on my book shelf. I hope you will also share with me what books made an impact in your life.
