Levis Sandton Store re- opening
The Levi flagship store in Sandton had a re-opening on Wednesday night. The iconic brand was introducing the new concept store to a few media and fashion people. I love the fact the their focus is on shape and not size- what I love even more is that Levis realises that every woman is different and in South Africa especially a one size fits all approach does not work.
Find your Levis curve ID here
What I wore; I wore a pink double slit jacquard skirt with a denim shirt.

SA FASHION WEEK POP UP SHOP PREVIEW
The SA Fashion week pop up shop preview evening was amazing last night, beyond what I had expected. Most of the designers were there in person and they brought the good stuff with them. With 50 designers to choose from, there is something for everyone at the pop up shop.
Thanks to Jameson the drinks were flowing all night.
I was invited by Faeeza Khan to the preview, her stand was my primary interest and I was not disappointed. The Faeeza Khan label has so much personality each piece is quirky, interesting and feminine plus she is an absolutely adorable person. I will share with you later the fabulous skirt I got from her line.
I wore a printed body con dress with Steven Madden heels and bright orange lips by Maybelline super stay colour 540.
If you want interesting statement pieces for your wardrobe then please make your way to Brooklyn mall in Pretoria between the 30th and the 2nd of September and enjoy a wonderful glimpse of what our local designers have to offer.

The Skip Fashion Exchange
We live in very interesting and exciting times. Your close circle of friends and sisters are not the only people from who's wardrobes you can shop and swap clothes. Think of The Skip Fashion Exchange as your extended circle of fabulously fashionable friends...who are looking to find a loving home for clothing they no longer wear but still love and and you can be that welcoming home.
Here is what you need to do; Go through your cupboard and select three items that you value, but you no longer fit into or wear.Wash, clean and mend these items so that they are in the best condition and bring them along to the Fashion Exchange.
These items will be evaluated and given a "value", you will then be able to swap for clothing items of similar value.
If this sounds like your kind of thing; visit the Skip website Here

The Stylista launch and Luminance Pop up shop
Dear fabulous readers, I have been MIA for a little bit. I promise its been for a good course. I am learning to sew, make patterns and other general dress making skills. I have always wanted to make my own clothes and I am so excited to finally be learning. I'll update you on later posts on my progress.
For now I want to chat about the fabulous happenings of yesterday night. You may have heard about the new South African street style website called The Stylista. Last night The Stylista was being officially launched; fashionisitas everywhere can now register for an account and start sharing their style. I was one of the bloggers who were asked to be part of the The Stylista demo website, it is so exciting to now see the site fully fledged and working beautifully. All the beautiful stylish people were at the opening together with some of my favorite bloggers.
After the Stylista launch, It was off to the Luminance pop up store in Hyde Park corner. Grazia SA was holding a readers shopping experience at the pop up store. Daniella went through the trends and the shoppers received a 20% discount on all shoes and selected clothing. Cocktails, macaroons, sushi and a brief love affair with a Alexander McQueen gold scull umbrella later I was ready to call it a Tuesday night.
What I wore: I wore my current favorite shirt from Jo Borkett; someone at work told me I look great in my Madiba shirt..lol..Not exactly what I was going for..I paired the eeeerrrrh ..Madiba shirt with a high waist skirt and a jacket with shades of tweed and leather.

The great Gatsby premier
ELLESA magazine, Waner Bros and Monte Casino hosted the South African premier of the Great Gatsby last night.
The evening had a chill in the air warmed only by the icy martinis served through out out the night cutesy of Martini. 20's style was the order of the day, I however opted for a more 60's style silhouette velvet dress.
Advice from Malcom Kluk and Christian of KLUK CGDT is that if you are going to do a 1920's look for daytime wear; only select one piece from this era. If you wear the dropped waist dress, don't wear the head piece as well and wear minimal pearls..that way you won't look too costumey.
The movie The great Gatsby is a visual feast in 3D; if for nothing else go and watch it for the costumes and the Gatsby parties. You will certainly feel like your weekends are too tame.
The highlight of the night was running into my fave designer Thula Sindi. I had chatted to him over email and twitter before but never in person. He is so down to earth and low key and easy going, we had a quick chat in-between cocktails and took some pics of course.
The evening was a lot of fun.
