My Valentines day
I wore this outfit to my valentines day dinner and outdoor movie date. I know its not your typical Vday pink or red and white outfit, but I felt pretty in black. I tried to lighten up the outfit with the colourful head scarf.
My boyfriend and I went to an outdoor movie screening of Paris je taime at the Maboneng Precinct in downtown Jozi. As we arrived on Fox street for the movie, we were welcome by a gorgeous visual of tens of red beanie bags across the street laid out before the big screen. After a refreshing welcome cocktail, we had dinner at Shap'braai which is a chisa nyama esk township style kind of restaurant. Then with bubbly and pop corn in hand we watched the movie under the stars. It was a really cool experience, and the beanie bags were surprisingly comfortable and created a conducive environment to cuddling.
What I wore:
- Peplum skirt- Jo Borkett
- Tux blazer- H&M
- Scarf worn as a turban- Forever New
- Peep toe boots- Edgars

My hair right now!
This post has been inspired by fellow blogger and hair lover Tendayi from http://www.africanhairblog.com
Tendayi is a lady who is passionate about taking care of hair, nourishing it and creating a fertile environment for it to grow and flourish. After much reading up on her blog about how I should be taking care of my hair and all the don'ts that I'm currently doing, I silently made a promise to from there on be gentler and caring of my hair.
What I have been doing:
- I have been treating weekly, I mostly do this at home with a deep conditioning treatment from Organic; every two weeks I do this treatment at the salon.
- I air dry my hair with rollers, so I don't have to use a straightening iron or a blow dryer which can lead to thinning of hair strands.
- No micro braids for me; when I braid my hair I ensure the braids are not too thin because this could lead to hair loss on the hair line.
- I moisturize every night before bed both my scalp and the hair, I don't like to do this in the morning because the hair may be too oily.
My hair right now:
My hair was texlaxed three weeks ago; texlaxing is a form of relaxing that doesn't straighten the hair too much, it leaves it manageable and not bone straight.
I then did what is called dry curl; to achieve this you put perm rollers on wet hair and sit under the dryer for an hour.
The result is bouncy curls that look like an afro without the the stiffness and dryness of an afro. I plan to do these curls myself next time after conditioning at home, I'll put them on before bed so that they dry overnight and I will not need to use a dryer. First I need to find the perm curlers..I have no idea where to buy them.
I'm really enjoying these curls, I feel like I'm channeling a young and innocent MJ ..bonus (:
Immediately after the curls were done..
Two days after the curls were done..

Like a second skin
My bf's Samsung phone saves the day yet again..and the photos are not too bad.
The thing I love most about this body-con dress is that it fits like a second skin. Its made from a cotton fabric with a floral print and has a sexy half bare back.
The heels are are in a dark red color from Buffalo. I wore this look in the evening for dinner.
I hope you like it.

Long time..
Dear readers,
Its been a while since my last post, this is due mainly to the fact that I no longer have a camera. I dropped my camera with the lens extended a while back, now the lens is stuck and will no longer extend fully.
If any of the blogs on Nikon and Canon cameras are anything to go by, after trying all the recommended "fixes" with no luck I should just throw the camera away.
I will get a new camera eventually, hopefully one that is a lot more sophisticated than my previous one which really was for taking holiday photos and certainly not for blogging.
Enough about my camera woes, what I wanted to talk about is Arts on Main in the the Maboneng Precinct in Johannesburg CBD.
I went to the living room, a lounge like cafe this past weekend for a late lunch, and never have I felt the pain of not having a camera more sharply than then. Arts on main is simple gorgeous with the old city feel of the buildings, cute coffee shops, art galleries and boutique stores like LoinClothandAshes all in one place, it is the perfect place for any art lover.
The living room is on the rooftop of one of the city center buildings, whilst enjoying a Margarita you can also watch the sun setting in the city's sky line.
The only problem is that you have to drive in the cbd midst speeding taxis, possible smash and grabbers and one way streets to get to Arts on Main, but once you are there you realize it is worth it.
To see all the cool stuff that happen at Arts on Main at the Maboneng Precinct such as markets and events visit their website http://www.mabonengprecinct.com
My boyfriend took some photos with his Samsung phone, he was gracious enough to lend me some for this post.
I will be going back to Arts on Main for a valentines movie screening. If you have nothing to do on V day, see details of the movie screening of Paris Je Taime hosted by Arts on Main.
Thanks for the visit.

The sports jacket..
Hi lovely readers,
This look today is inspired by sports wear. Since I'm not a very sporty person I tried to bring a lady like feel to the look. I was trying to create a contrast between sports wear and my usual high heeled, girl looks.
This baseball jacket is so comfortable and I really enjoyed wearing it. I paired the jacket with Jeans and pretty heels.
About the look:
- Jacket- Mr Price
- Jeans- Edgars
- Heels- Guess
- Sling bag- Aldo

Full skirt and Bra top
The weather has been uncomfortable hot these days. I wore this outfit on one of the hot days; its a bra top and a knee length full skirt from Selfi.
My best accessory for this look is my hair. This is air dried hair with rollers..I just love how poofy it is.
