The printed silk dress
I am inlove with this silk print dress- Its so light weight and easy going, I accessorized it with a red lip. I wore this look to the Grazia Jo Borkett readers event.

The waist coat and leather skirt
I loved wearing this look. Its a little bit serious and a little cheeky at the same time. I combined a faux leather skirt with a thrifted waist coast with gold buttons. My friend Linda did such a good job taking the photos- check out her stylish pink sandals below.

Trust me, this is the IT sandal of the season, the brighter the better..

SA FASHION WEEK POP UP SHOP PREVIEW
The SA Fashion week pop up shop preview evening was amazing last night, beyond what I had expected. Most of the designers were there in person and they brought the good stuff with them. With 50 designers to choose from, there is something for everyone at the pop up shop.
Thanks to Jameson the drinks were flowing all night.
I was invited by Faeeza Khan to the preview, her stand was my primary interest and I was not disappointed. The Faeeza Khan label has so much personality each piece is quirky, interesting and feminine plus she is an absolutely adorable person. I will share with you later the fabulous skirt I got from her line.
I wore a printed body con dress with Steven Madden heels and bright orange lips by Maybelline super stay colour 540.
If you want interesting statement pieces for your wardrobe then please make your way to Brooklyn mall in Pretoria between the 30th and the 2nd of September and enjoy a wonderful glimpse of what our local designers have to offer.

Too cool for school!
This outfit was born of a bad hair day, a freebie Tshirt I have been wanting to wear for a while and a faux leather jacket that I bought at a vintage thrift store...the result is a what I consider a very cool look.
The Tshirt was a gift from The Stylista at the launch of their website; its designed by the cool Cult Collective. The design of my shirt is a play on Prada...Praduh. Cult Collective is an iconographic Joburg-based clothing brand that merges clashing references in a collage of prints taken from global street culture, art and music; the label was founded by William Ndatila and Miro Bijelich who say they’re trying to break the general mind-set of the local fashion industry. - source 10and5.com
The faux leather jacket is from Hombakazi Vintage Cabin (HVC), a very cute and thrifty vintage store from P.E. that will very soon be on line. Right now they do weekend sales and you can also spot them at craft markets and fairs in JHB and CTN.

Head On..
Picking what to wear is
my favorite part of the day; this is the one time I can really be
creative. My personal style has grow a lot over the years; I now no longer feel
the need to follow every trend, I also now have a lot more faith in my instincts and I
am not afraid to take a risk..I may get it wrong but I love dressing on my own terms. I have resolved to take a trend that I like and really make it my own.
Before I even go to my
closet to look for what to wear, I start with one piece that I know I want to wear that day. It could be shoes or a dress; I then build the rest of the outfit from there.
In this case
I built this look from this recently acquired scarf from Forever New.. My
thought process was that I wanted this wonderful scarf to be the focal
point and I wanted the rest of the pieces to complement rather than outshine or
compete with the scarf.
I thought this sheer
navy top would make the perfect background, so that the blue jeans and the
scarf work in harmony.
The brown stacked heel
gives a great balance to this look. The shoes are from Aldo and they work
pretty much with anything.
About the outfit:
- Shoes- Aldo
- Jeans- Woolies
- Top- Vero Moda
- Belt- Mr Price
- Scarf worn as turban- Forever New

50 shades of orange..
Ok, so its really just 3 shades of orange..
I love this girly look, I wore it on a sunny warm African day. I played with different shades of pink, salmon and orange.
Using the same colour three or four times on the same outfit can really look sophisticated and fun; I did it with three different shades of pink. I tried to create a continuous smooth colour palet with my oranges and pinks from the top to the shoes. This look is the opposite of colour blocking. I then attempted to create some sort of deperation with the different colour belt.
The lovely colorful belt is from Mr Price, It came with a pair of pants that I'm planning to cut and make into shorts..I'll update you on that later.
The skirt is from Forever New, the shoes from Nine West and the top cost me R35 at Mr Price..Yay!
